Trip Leaders: Anyone can lead a trip! Post your trip by logging in and then going here. If you do not have an account, contact the webmaster. For overnight trips, please ensure that membership waivers for participants are current and recorded by the club Membership Chairperson prior to your trip. Non-members may participate in day trips. All club sponsored trips require the trip waiver. After the trip, please scan and email a PDF of the waiver to the Trip Coordinator.

    Trip Leaders - both current and future!  Let's have dinner together on Wednesday evening May 1 at 6 pm.  Let's talk about how to lead trips and how to deal with the challenges that can come up.  If you have been interested in leading a trip, but are not quite certain how to get started - this is the evening for you.  If you have led trips, come and share your experiences.  

    We will have regular and veggie burgers - you bring something to eat or drink to share.

    We have 1 spot for an experienced backpacker to join us on a 3 night camping trip inside the Grand Canyon. A female would be welcome to share our hotel rooms. Details below:

    5/4: Depart New Mexico in the morning, time TBD

          Overnight in a hotel inside the GC NP

    5/5-6: South Kaibab Trail to Phantom Ranch

         Overnight at Bright Angel Campground 

    5/7: Up Bright Angel Trail to Havasupai Gardens

         Overnight at Havasupai Gardens 

    5/8:  Exit the canyon via Bright Angel Trail 

         Hotel outside GC NP

    5/9: Drive back to NM

    I would like to propose a May 2024 canyon trip to the Ticaboo Canyon system in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. This adventure will take us to a complex canyon system with water enough for camping, and make possible a series of day hikes to slickrock tops and side canyons. We will camp somewhere in the canyon system. All the hiking will be off trail, and sometimes involves scrambling over rock ledges and ridges, or wading through creeks.

    Join Zack Baker with PEEC and the Los Alamos Mountaineers for this beautiful hike along the Rio Grande. Participants will meet at the Los Alamos Nature Center parking lot at 8:45am, leaving for the trailhead by 9am. Expected return to the trailhead is 3pm.

    A hike/bike trip to the Tenth Mountain Hut Division – Fowler/Hilliard is planned for August 12-15, 2024.  We have the entire hut for 12 adults.  The deposit is $163.00 per person.  Please e-mail me with your interest.
