Lotus Flower Tower

Southeast Face One of the top 25 routes in this collection!

Beta Images Slide Show

One of the finest pure rock climbs in the world on an amazing tower in Canada's remote NW Territories. The Southeast Face (or "Great Line") is the most popular route in the interestingly named "Cirque of the Unclimbables." There are enough other excellent climbs in the Cirque to make a trip there worthwhile, even if conditions or crowds don't allow you on the Lotus Flower Tower. However, getting there can be a challenge - either a very expensive Helicopter ride, or the "approach from Hell."
