In this new version of our canyon country adventures, I would like to solicit interest for an 11-night, multi-point llama trek around the various canyons and high points of the Scorpion Flat, west of the Escalante River and east of the Hole in the Rock road south of Escalante, Utah. Destinations include Gates Tank, Fools Canyon, Les George Point, Scorpion Canyon, the Escalante River, and 25 Mile Canyon. We have visited some of these places before, but this will be a chance for deeper exploration, and our extended time in the wilderness will set us free from the workaday world, more so than our regular 6-night trips. We will enter the wilderness from Red Wells and exit at Egypt trailhead. This will be a catered trip, in which llama outfitter BJ Orozoco (Llama2Boot) and two guides will move gear from camp to camp, and provide our meals, but we will be on our own for our day explorations. We will leave Los Alamos on Monday, April 12, 2021, overnight in a town close to our trailhead, go into the wilderness on April 13 and exit on April 24. We will then overnight in town, and drive back to Los Alamos on Sunday, April 25.

There is room for just 6 participants on this outing, including myself. The cost for the adventure will be $3,600. I will manage the participation and waiting list, and BJ will collect the deposits (50%) and final payments. This should be an outstanding and extended adventure. If you would like to join this trip, please let me know.

Sincerely, Bill
