Join PEEC and the Los Alamos Mountaineers for an intermediate, loop trail hiking outing in the Nambe Badlands on October 7th. This trip will cover 5.3 miles and about 550 feet of elevation gain. It will be of intermediate difficulty. Participants should be able to hike 5 miles in ~2 hours and will need to bring their own water, snacks, sunscreen, and dress appropriately for the weather.

The Nambe Badlands are located in Nambe, NM. The trail consists of two loops that cover rolling terrain with several steeper pitches. The Nambe Badlands Trailhead (35.924980, -105.962640) is located on SR 503, the "High Road to Taos." The badlands consist of a labyrinth of arroyos and canyons in a pinon-juniper landscape. For those wishing to caravan/carpool, please meet at PEEC at 8:30 am. Otherwise, we will meet at the trailhead at 9:00 am.

Bring sunscreen, water, snacks, and rain gear.

Registration for this program is limited to 20 people. Reserve your spot today on the PEEC website:
