Skull Bridge to Ojitos Canyon

This is a day hike along a section of the Continental Divide Trail. We will leave Los Alamos at 8 AM on Memorial Day (Monday May 26), drive past Abiquiu and Ghost Ranch to the Monastary road, and park at Skull Bridge. From there we will hike westward on the Continental Divide trail, under the cliffs of the Abiquiu red rock country. This will be an out and back hike, aiming at 6-8 miles total. If the weather gets too hot for this route, we will divert a day or two before to an alternative route at higher elevation, perhaps in the Jemez. In any case, we will find ourselves an interesting day option to spice up the Memorial Day weekend. We will arrange carpooling from Los Alamos as much as possible. Contact Bill to take part.
