Maybe not what you are expecting from the title. This is intended as a social gathering of the Club's local backcountry riding community to meet potential partners to plan adventures and ride with. So, come join Ann, Michael and other like minded individuals at the Camp May Pavillon on Sunday February 11 at 11:30. We'll have a grill, so BYOB (Bring your own Brats), and some stoves set up to facilitate a social gathering of the local backcountry community. Bring your transceivers to find hidden prizes, hone your skills and challenge your comrades.

Let's snowshoe to Nambe Lake from the Santa Fe ski basin. I did this last week and it was hard work, but not impossible. Be aware there will be a LOT of steep climbing, but it isn't technical. Alternatively, we can go to Puerto Nambe if the group doesn't want the climb to Nambe Lake.

Nambe Lake: 7 miles, 2000 ft elevation gain

Puerto Nambe: 8.5 miles, 1800 ft elevation gain

This weekend it starts snowing Friday night and continues all through Saturday all day.  I want to leave Friday and spend two days in Colorado skiing, coming back Sunday night.

The Hill Stompers are playing in Durango as the official band of the towns snow-down festival.

So I'd like to lead a trip of people who want to go to ski Purgatory with this short notice arrangement.  Depending on response we can organize together sharing hotels and carpooling. And depending on ability we can see who can ski together as a powder hound group.

Join us for an intermediate, cross-country ski outing to Canada Bonita Wednesday night, January 24. The first full moon of 2024, also known as Wolf Moon, will provide enough light to enjoy the scenery. Depending on your preference, the round trip will be anywhere between 4 and 8 miles of skiing. It will be of intermediate difficulty and participants should have previous experience cross country skiing.

We will leave promptly at 9 PM from the gate at Camp May Road up on Pajarito ski hill. We plan to be back to our cars by 11 PM.
